The S&P 500 was up 0.4% to 2,112.72 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.7% to 18,255.30, and the Nasdaq was up 0.6% to 4,990.90.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 3.2% to 2.07%.
The price of gold fell 0.4% to $1,208.

Irvine-based Autobytel Inc. was up 4.5% to $13.47 and a $122 million market cap after closing up about 24% Friday. The automotive marketing services firm earned 11 cents per share in its most recent quarter, up more than two-thirds compared with the same time last year. It provided current-year guidance in line with analysts’ estimates.
TECHNOLOGY
Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. was down 7% to $5.59 on profit-taking after rising 19% on Friday. The natural gas fueling station operator earned $1.3 million in its most recent quarter on revenue of about $132 million. Analysts were expecting the company to report a loss.
