Markets were down in afternoon trading, Wednesday.
The S&P 500 slipped 0.10% to 1,910.04.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.17% to 16,647.60, while the Nasdaq was down 0.30% to 4,224.16.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 2.82% to 2.45%.
The price of gold was down 0.55 % to $1,258.60.
APPAREL
Wet Seal was down 14.2% to $0.87. After markets closed Tuesday, the company reported a sales drop of almost 17% to $116.7 million in the first quarter and that it lost nearly $22 million.
HEALTHCARE
Allergan Inc. was down 4.4% to $157.75. Wednesday morning, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. raised its hostile bid for the company to about $166.16 a share, or $50 billion. Three analyst and investor responses say that price is too low, pegging a successful merger at between $167 and $207, or about $55 billion to $60 billion.
