Newport Beach-based patent licensor Acacia Research Corp. rose about 4% to $14.25 for a market value of $711.44 million. The company saw its rating raised from “underperform” to “neutral” by Zacks Investment Research.
RESTAURANTS
Huntington Beach-based BJ’s Restaurants Inc. was up about 3% to $29.42 for a market value of $830.44 million. Restaurant operators were generally up on Tuesday.
REAL ESTATE
Irvine-based TRI Pointe Homes Inc. was off about 4% to $17.48 for a market value of $552.44 million. JMP Securities lowered its rating on TRI Pointe’s stock from “outperform” to “market perform.”
EDUCATION
Shares of Santa Ana-based for-profit school operator Corinthian Colleges Inc. rose about 10% to $1.44 for a market value of $125.47 million. For-profit school operators were generally up on Tuesday.
