The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.7% to 28,690.55, while the Nasdaq was up 0.1% to 11,728.22.
Crude oil declined 0.4% to $40.79.
Gold fell 0.3% to $1,903.50.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury was up 1.1% to 0.74%.
RESTAURANTS
Shares of Lake Forest-based Del Taco Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: TACO) fell 19% to $8.47, following a run up in the company’s stock leading into Thursday’s quarterly results. The restaurant operator, with a market cap of $316.1 million, reported better-than-expected earnings for its third quarter ended Sept.8. However, the company continued to maintain its stance on guidance, shelving any projections for the current quarter.
SERVICES
Irvine-based Montrose Environmental Group Inc. (NYSE: MEG) was up 2.8% to $26.06 for a market cap of $646 million. The environmental services company has risen 16.4% since going public in July.
