The S&P 500 rose 0.5% during midday trading to 3,059.21.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.4% to 25,476.21.
The Nasdaq was up 0.8% to 9,564.66.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond climbed 2.9% to 0.67%.
The price of gold ticked up 0.1% to 1,753.40.
The price of oil dipped 1.6% to $34.92 a barrel.
RESTAURANTS
Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) in Newport Beach rose 5.1% to $1,055.50 and a $29.4 billion market cap. A Wedbush analyst raised his target price Monday on the fast-casual restaurant operator from $870 to $1,200. The move follows that of Baird analyst David Tarantino, who raised his target price on Friday to $1,150 from $950. Shares are up 20% in the past month.
REAL ESTATE
Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. Inc. (NYSE: NWHM) climbed 13% to $3.48 and a $63 million market cap. New Home’s increase was the largest of all Orange County homebuilders, and among its biggest competitors. Shares are still off about 25% since the start of the year.
