Major U.S. indexes continued on gains registered at the end of last week with the S&P up 2.4% in Monday midday trading to 2,603.24.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 2% to 22,099.24 and the Nasdaq 2.7% to 7,711.76.
The yield on a 10-Year Treasury bond dropped 15% to 0.64%.
Crude oil fell 6% to $20.22 a barrel.
Gold ticked down 0.7% to $1,642.

Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc. (NYSE: IMH) fell 26% to $2.47 and a $53 million market cap. The Irvine-based mortgage originator said Monday it was suspending all lending activity for two weeks due to market disruptions. Shares are currently trading at about half their typical volume.
New Home Co. Inc. (NYSE: NWHM) plunged 21% to $1.80 and a $36 million market cap—the biggest decline among several homebuilding cohort. Shares in the Aliso Viejo-based developer-builder are down 60% year-to-date.
