The price of gold rose 0.2% to $1,518 an ounce.
A barrel of oil was 0.2% higher at $61.77.
REAL ESTATE
Foundation Building Materials (NYSE: FBM) in Santa Ana was up 8.7% to $20.56 and an $884 million market cap. The building products distributor will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 before markets open Jan. 2. Its shares are up 113% this year.
RETAIL
Irvine-based Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) declined 3.1% to $43.02 and a $1.2 billion market cap. The western wear retailer’s shares are up 122% this year.
