The S&P 500 notched a gain of 0.6% to 3,224.2 in midday trading Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5% to 28,506.4, while the Nasdaq rose 0.5% to 8,930.2.
Crude oil prices dipped 1.4% to $60.31 a barrel.
Gold was off 0.2% to $1,482.
The yield on a 10-Year Treasury bond was up 0.5% to 1.9%.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based Axonics Modulation Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: AXNX) was off 2.6% to $26.20 for a market value of $890 million. Shares of the medical device maker, focused on treating urologic conditions, rose 1.9% yesterday after revealing patent wins from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
TECHNOLOGY
Shares of CalAmp Corp. (Nasdaq: CAMP) plunged 18% to $9.77 and a $333 million market cap. The Irvine-based software maker yesterday forecast fourth quarter adjusted profit of 10 cents to 16 cents while analysts on average expected 24 cents.
