Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 fell 0.7% to 2,970.78 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.7% to 26,775.58.

The Nasdaq dropped 1.4% to 7.994.01

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 3.3% to 1.7%.

The price of gold increased 0.6% to $1,541.

The price for a barrel of oil plunged 1.8% to $57.59

TECHNOLOGY

Data Analytics software company Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) of Irvine dropped 4% to $113.46 per share with a market cap of $7.4 billion. U.S. stocks slipped lower after President Trump criticized China in a speech to the UN.

RETAIL

Irvine-based retailer Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) fell 3.8% to $35.44 per share with a market cap of $1 billion. Zacks Equity Research on Monday said that both American specialty clothing store Zumiez and Boot Barn are impressive stocks with solid earnings outlooks, but that Zumiez “is the superior value option right now.”
