Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was flat in midday trading at 2,841.41.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% to 25,611.00.

The Nasdaq declined 0.3% to 7,783.84.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 0.5% to 2.86%.

The price of gold was 0.1% higher at $1,185.

TECHNOLOGY

Lantronix Inc. (Nasdaq: LTRX) in Irvine climbed 8.1% to $3.62 and a $66 million market cap. Peterson Capital Group reported a stake and said it’s studying ways to improve shareholder value. Lantronix, which makes software to connect, manage and secure “internet of things” products, is scheduled to report fourth-quarter earnings on Aug. 22.

HEALTHCARE

Lake Forest’s Cryoport Inc. (Nasdaq: CYRX) was up 4.2% to $12.94 and a $358 million market cap. The increase was the first after five consecutive trading days of decline following the company’s second-quarter report on Aug. 9 of a loss wider than analysts expected. Shares of the health sciences products shipping company are still up 51% this year.
