Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.2% in midday trading to 2,833.30.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.2% to 26,169.46.

The Nasdaq dropped 0.8% to 7,405.97

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.5% to 2.64%.

The price of gold was 1.4% higher to $1,355.

HEALTHCARE

Aerie Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: AERI) in Irvine was down 7.5% to $56.45 and a $2.1 billion market cap. The eye drug maker said it would sell up to $75 million in common stock to fund marketing and other corporate work. Underwriters can buy up to an additional $11.25 million worth of stock. Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. is sole bookrunner on the offering.

ChromaDex Corp. (Nasdaq: CDXC) in Irvine was down 5% to $5 and a $269 million market cap on above-average volume. ChomaDex makes nutritional ingredients.

RETAIL

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine was down 4% to $17.50 and a $469 million market cap. The western wear retailer’s shares have declined on the week following the closing of an offering of 6 million shares by its former majority owner, Freeman Spogli, and management, at $17.25 a share.
