Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.2% in midday trading to 2,657.95.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% to 24,368.65.

The Nasdaq climbed 0.6% to 6,878.82.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 0.4% to 2.37%.

The price of gold dropped 0.1% to $1,248.

HEALTHCARE

Tustin-based Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: PPHM) increased 3.4% to $5.45 and a $246 million market cap. The company, which is developing drugs to combat cancer, is scheduled to issue fiscal second quarter results today after the close. Its shares have almost doubled in the past three months.

TECHNOLOGY

Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) rose 2.7% to $28.03 and a $1.66 billion market cap. Shares in the Irvine-based data analytics software maker have climbed almost 50% since September.
