Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.1% in midday trading to 2,591.54.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1% to 23,556.21.

The NASDAQ increased 0.2% to 6,780.80.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 1% to 2.32%.

The price of gold jumped 1.1% to $1,283

TECHNOLOGY

Universal Electronics Inc. (Nasdaq: UEIC) fell 4.4% to $49.40 and a $710 million market cap. Shares of the Santa Ana-based company have declined 19% since reporting on Nov. 2 third-quarter adjusted profit that missed the average estimate of three analysts.

HEALTHCARE

ChromaDex Corp. (Nasdaq: CDXC) rose 5.5% to $4.44 and a $213 million market cap. The Irvine-based maker of ingredients for nutritional supplements reported the sale of $23 million of stock in a private placement at $4.10 a share. The shares’ purchasers wasn’t identified. The shares have not been registered in the U.S. so aren’t available for trading here, ChromaDex said.
