Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine was up 8% to $8.74 and a $232 million market cap. The western retailer’s shares rose along with other apparel and shoe sellers in a generally up market; a so-so jobs report appears to have been positively received heading into the extended Labor Day weekend.
AUTOMOTIVE
Autobytel Inc. (NASDAQ: ABTL) was up 5% to $7.61 and a $97 million market cap. Autobytel provides car sales leads. U.S. carmakers reported mixed sales for August but shares of the big three—GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler—rose.
HEALTHCARE
Biolase Inc. (NASDAQ: BIOL) was up 18% to 60 cents and a $46 million market cap on high volume. Shares in the dental laser maker had traded by midday at a rate more than double its 90-day average.
