Confie, a Huntington Beach-based national insurance distribution company with $500 million in annual sales, named Cesar Soriano as chief executive officer, effective immediately.
He replaces Valeria Rico, who was chief executive at Confie for two years before leaving last November to become chief executive of GGA Investments in Los Angeles.
Confie a year ago hired Soriano as chief operating officer. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer of Interstate National, a provider of finance and insurance products and services. Soriano was also chief executive at RSM McGladrey Financial Process Outsourcing and has worked at the Bowne Corp., Dun and Bradstreet and Xerox Corp. He was also an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army.
Mordy Rothberg, the company’s founder and executive chairman, will continue to serve in the same capacities.
Confie, founded in 2008, is primarily focused on personal lines and small commercial insurance. It has more than 800 retail locations.
