OC home builder stocks fell after a national index of existing home sales rose in February year-over-year but declined 3.7% compared with January results, to a seasonally adjusted rate of about 5.5 million.
CalAtlantic Group Inc. in Irvine was down 2.5% to $35.91 and a $4 billion market cap. Tri Pointe Group Inc. in Irvine was down about 1% to $12.42 and a $1.9 billion market cap. William Lyon Homes in Newport Beach was down 3.3% to $19.97 and a $627 million market cap. New Home Co. Inc. in Aliso Viejo was down 2.1% to $10.20 and a $209 million market cap.
