REAL ESTATE
Two Orange County home builders were up after reporting higher income and revenue this morning.
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up 7.7% to $18.11 and a $574 million market cap. It earned $13.1 million in net income on $342.6 million in revenue, up 8% and 40%, respectively
Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. Inc. was up 8.2% to $10.46 and a $217 million market cap. It had net income of $5.5 million on revenue of $178 million. Net income was up 25%, revenue was up 105%.
The two reporting companies drew OC builders higher.
Irvine-based CalAtlantic Group Inc. was up 3.4% to $32.11 and a $3.8 billion market cap. Irvine-based Tri Pointe Group Inc. was up 3.6% to $10.93 and a $1.8 billion market cap.
CalAtlantic and Tri Pointe reported earnings in previous weeks.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Universal Electronics Inc., was down 12.6% to $60.08 and an $870 million market cap. The maker of remote controls reported net income of $7.8 million on revenue of $169.2 million for its most recent quarter. Revenue missed analysts’ expectations.
RESTAURANTS
Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. was down 12% to $10.77 and a $413 million market cap. The fast food chicken chain earned $5.2 million in net income on $95.8 million in revenue. The company missed analysts’ revenue expectations.
SERVICES
Anaheim-based Willdan Group Inc. was up 5.7% to $17.20 and a $143 million market cap. The engineering services firm had net income of $2.5 million on $58.7 million in revenue in its most recent quarter compared with net income of $800,000 on revenue of $33.5 million year-over-year. Willdan’s share price has doubled year-to-date.
