The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 5.7% to 1.52%.
The price of gold was down 1.6% to $1,335.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Western Digital Corp. was up 4.8% to $51.94 and a $14.6 billion market cap. Shares in the storage products maker rose as competitor Seagate Technology in Cupertino was up 22% to an $8.8 billion market cap. Seagate raised its quarterly guidance and said it would cut 6,500 jobs or about 14% of its total employees.
AGRICULTURE
Newport Beach-based American Vanguard Corp. was up 4% to $16.35 and a $476.6 million market cap on moderate volume. The company makes pesticides and specialty chemicals.
