COVID Case Update

In the past week, there were 54 new coronavirus cases reported each day on average in Orange County, marking the fifth day in a row that the trailing seven days represented a decrease in new cases over the preceding week.

The figure is down from the 60 average daily cases reported for the week ending April 10.

  • For the week ending April 3, there were 56 average daily cases
  • For the week ending March 27, there were 36 cases
  • For the week ending March 20, there were 8 cases

There were 77 new cases reported Friday, bringing OC’s total to 1,500, and three new deaths, bringing the local total to 28.

Nationally, there have been nearly 36,000 deaths; the Orange County per capita death rate is less than one-tenth of the national rate.
