Curt Christianssen, chief financial officer of Irvine-based investor Carpenter Community Bancfund, has joined its Pacific Mercantile Bancorp in Costa Mesa as interim chief financial officer.
He fills the position formerly served by Nancy Gray, executive vice president at Pacific Mercantile. She will serve the company as chief accounting officer, a newly created role.
Pacific Mercantile is a portfolio company of the Carpenter fund, the private equity arm of bank advisory firm Carpenter & Co. The fund has controlling stakes in five community banks in California.
Christanssen has served in the financial chief position for a number of banks and financial services firms, including Eldorado Bancorp and Manhattan Bancorp, which also is part of the Carpenter fund.
He also had stints at Ernst & Young and government-owned asset manager Resolution Trust Corp.
