JSX Files Lawsuit Against JWA

Air charter company JSX, formerly JetSuiteX, has filed a lawsuit to contend John Wayne Airport’s recent move to ban the company’s operations at the Orange County airport.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in the United States Central District Court-Southern Division against Orange County, John Wayne Airport and Airport Director Barry Rondinella.

According to JSX, Rondinella sent a letter to the company last month saying JSX would no longer be allowed to operate at JWA starting Jan. 1, 2021. JSX has operated at the airport since June 2018.

That letter follows the airport’s move in September to approve new leases for Clay Lacy Aviation and ACI Jet with language that bans “regularly scheduled commercial users” such as JSX from the general aviation facilities.

“The JWA letter refuses to provide any accommodation for JSX to continue to fly and illegally impacts JSX’s schedules, routes and service in violation of federal law and the JWA Access Plan,” JSX said in a statement.
