Knott’s Announces Renovation Details

Plans $25M renovation of hotel; theme park's Fiesta Village set for updates

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park today announced details of its current park and hotel renovations.

In July, the amusement park – owned by Cedar Fair LP (NYSE: FUN) – hinted at a refresh of its Fiesta Village site on social media while construction walls were raised around the area.

Today, the company revealed its Fiesta Village will lean more into its Hispanic culture influence with three new walking zones, new dining options and redesigned décor, officials said. The area’s 1978 coaster will be updated as well and renamed to MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress.

Cedar Fair didn’t disclose how much it plans to spend renovating the park; it said it plans a $25 million renovation of the neighboring Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel.

Every part of the 322-room hotel will be rethemed and refurbished including common areas, conference rooms, event space and guest rooms. Renovations, which will begin later this year, will also highlight the roles of founders Walter and Cordelia Knott.

Both projects are scheduled to be completed in 2023.

Shares of Cedar Fair, which is based in Sandusky, Ohio, were little changed at $44 and a $2.5 billion market cap.
