Sunstone Pays $265M for California Resort

Irvine-based Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc. (NYSE: SHO) has made its first hotel acquisition in several years, paying $265 million for the 130-room Montage Healdsburg in Sonoma County.

Records indicate affiliates of Ohana Real Estate Investors, which owns the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club locally, sold the property for more than $2 million per key.

The luxury hotel wrapped construction in December 2020.

Sunstone’s last big acquisition was in mid-2017, when it paid $175 million for Key West’s Ocean Edge Resort & Marina.
