The Resort at Pelican Hill, owned by Irvine Co., is adding Marriott International as its new management company, effective July 1.
Irvine Co. will remain the hotel owner as Marriott plans to retain a majority of the Resort’s employees through the transition.
The 332-key Resort will operate under Marriott’s luxury division with the same name until it is later added to the hotel firm’s St. Regis brand portfolio.
The management shift comes after a year-long strategic review of the 504-acre property and its operations, according to the hotel.
The Irvine Co. previously counted three hotels in Orange County having sold the newly named Hyatt Regency Irvine and Pendry Newport Beach following the pandemic. The Resort at Pelican Hill is now its only local property.
