Hotel Rates, Revenue Up

Local hotels saw higher daily rates and revenue per available room on lower occupancy levels in June, CBRE Hotels said.

Strong average daily rate gains in Anaheim offset decreases in four other OC submarkets, with the overall average increasing 3.2% to $212.63.

Anaheim also led gains for RevPAR, which rose 5.6% there, to $187.25. Overall RevPAR increased 1.8% to $179.12.

Occupancy countywide dipped 1.3% to 84.2% with Costa Mesa hotels seeing a 5.8% drop to 82.6%.

CBRE Hotels tracks numbers in seven submarkets: Anaheim, Costa Mesa, the Airport area, North OC, South OC, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach.

The highest average daily rate and RevPAR in June were in Newport Beach, at $313.76 and $270.49; the lowest were in Costa Mesa at $135.70 and $112.07.

Year-to-date ADR rose 1.8% to $196.56; occupancy slipped 0.7% to 79.9%; RevPAR rose 1.1% to $156.97.
