The U.S. Men’s National Team will use Irvine’s Great Park as its designated training base during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The soccer team will train at the Great Park’s Championship Soccer Stadium, home to the USL’s Orange County Soccer Club. The facility was built in 2017 and can hold more than 5,000 people.
“The facilities are simply outstanding and will provide the perfect training environment for our team to prepare to be successful at the World Cup,” U.S. Soccer Sporting Director Matt Crocker said in a statement.
Additionally, the U.S. team and its coaching staff will be staying at the oceanfront Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
The city of Irvine, working with local nonprofit organizations, is also partnering with U.S. Soccer’s Soccer Forward Foundation to provide coaching development programs for youth sports coaches while the national team is in town.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19 across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
