Bob Chapek will succeed Robert Iger as chief executive of Walt Disney Co., effective immediately.
Chapek has been with the company for 27 years and is the seventh CEO in the company’s history. His most recent role has included overseeing Disneyland Resort as head of the Burbank-based global entertainment giant’s Parks, Experiences and Products unit.
Iger will stay on as executive chairman through the end of next year.
