The Surf Industry Members Association (SIMA), based in Huntington Beach, will be hosting its first consumer expo next year in April.
Titled SURFscape, the beachfront event will last two days in Huntington Beach featuring over 100 surf and lifestyle brands and manufacturers. This marks a new concept for the Orange County-based organization which launched in 1989.
“We’re looking to grow the market with this unique consumer-facing experience in a way that’s never been done before,” SIMA President Paul Naude said in a statement.
The expo anticipates more than 10,000 attendees during its first run.
“There is a huge opportunity in the surf and outdoor market to actually get consumers down to the beach and have them experience these products where they actually use them,” SIMA Executive Director Vipe Desai said.
