Anaheim Welcomes ‘Show of Shows’

Orange County hosts the ‘show of shows’ next week at Anaheim Convention Center with a trade event expected to produce about 4,000 room nights over its three-day run.

Expo! Expo! is the annual meeting and exhibition of the International Association of Exhibitions & Events in Dallas.

Some 2,000 attendees “organize meetings … and events (for) associations, corporations, medical [groups], government[s],” and others, Jay Burress, chief executive of destination marketer Visit Anaheim, said in an email.

The roughly 260 exhibitors include service providers such as contractors and equipment suppliers, he said.

The combination is “the gateway to the decision-makers for the $70 billion exhibitions and events industry” and functions as an open house that “positions Visit Anaheim with key groups, giving them the opportunity to experience Anaheim, with the goal to bid on and win their business in the future.”

Visit Anaheim also plans an update for potential clients on its Synchronicities initiative—a three-city co-marketing effort that includes Baltimore and San Antonio—at the Anaheim Packing House during the show.
