Anaheim-based Willdan Group Inc. (Nasdaq: WLDN) bought Energy and Environmental Economics Inc. (E3) in San Francisco on undisclosed terms.
E3 is a data analysis, strategy, and consulting firm with about 70 employees and offices in Boston and New York; it’s involved in electricity, greenhouse gases, energy markets and related industries.
The 30-year-old firm works with “utilities, regulators, policy makers, developers and investors,” a press release said.
Energy consulting and engineering firm Willdan often bids on municipal and utilities work, and occasionally buys companies to grow its reach.
Chairman and CEO Tom Brisbin said the acquisition should help Willdan see “future market trends and position us to advise clients” on policy and energy issues.
