Irvine-based Vizio Holding Corp. (NYSE: VZIO) has bolstered its free channel offering on its SmartCast connected TVS with 10 additions.
The company said it added PeopleTV, QVC, HSN, Jack Hanna, Love Nature, Real Wild, Fuse Sweat, Absolute History, Revry and Horse & Country to its channel roster. The channels are available to anyone with a SmartCast TV.
The move continues to bolster the company’s streaming services, part of its Platform+ business. The division, which totaled $147.2 million in revenue generates money off the sale of advertising, subscriptions and licensing revenues.
The potential in digital advertising is one of the reasons Vizio made its debut Monday at the IAB NewFronts event, which allowed it to make its pitch directly to digital marketers.
Its presentation at the event included an outline of a new Vizio Features program that allows marketers to create custom content for SmartCast users. Vizio confirmed one of the companies it’s working with on Features is El Segundo gaming and esports company Subnation Media.
Vizio shares were trading down 2.8% on Tuesday to $26.62 for a market cap of $4.9 billion.
