Rocket Lab Corp. (Nasdaq: RKLB), which sends diverse payloads into space, said it has successfully launched its 21st Electron rocket of the year.
The Dec. 21 launch from Rocket Lab’s site in New Zealand deployed the latest satellite for the Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space Inc., a Japan-based Earth imaging company.
The mission set a new annual company launch record for Electron: 21 launches in one year with 100% mission success. The record cements Electron as both America’s preeminent small launch provider and the world’s most frequently-launched small-lift orbital rocket, says Rocket Lab.
Rocket Lab is based in Long Beach and previously was headquartered in Huntington Beach.
