Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 Index rose 1% to 4,409.54 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.6% to 35,036.26 and the Nasdaq jumped 1% to 14,828.12.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond surged 1.7% to 1.286%.

The price for a barrel of oil increased 0.1% to $72.

An ounce of gold dipped 0.2% to $1,801.60.

 

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based memory products maker Netlist Inc. (OTC: NLST) dropped 22% to $7.29 and a $1.4 billion market cap, giving up some of the gains seen earlier in the week. Shares are still up more than 150% in the past month and are currently trading at more than six times their average volume.

RESTAURANTS
 
Shares in Lake Forest-based Del Taco Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: TACO) fell 3.1% to $10.50 and a $386 million market cap after rising about 3% on Thursday following earnings results that beat consensus estimates. Shares are currently trading at nearly half their daily average and are up about 26% in the past year.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) rose 1.1% to $1,817.87 and a $51 billion market cap. Shares in the Newport Beach-based restaurant chain hit a new stock record of $1,818.49 earlier Thursday, continuing this week’s gains, with shares up 18% in the past week.
