Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 fell 0.1% to 3,564.93 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.3% to 29,345.31 while the Nasdaq ticked up 0.5% to 11,861.14.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 3.7% to 0.849%.

Oil was down 0.9% to $41.45.

The price of gold declined 0.7% to $1,861.60 per ounce.

TECHNOLOGY

Artificial intelligence firm Veritone Inc. (Nasdaq: VERI) jumped 8.4% to $15.32 a share and a $425 million market cap. The Costa Mesa-based company announced three new issued patents for its battery control technology this morning, bringing its issued patent total to 13, with an additional 16 pending.

HEALTHCARE

Novus Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: NVUS) climbed 9.44% to $19.94 a share and a $25 million market cap. Shares are still down about 8% since the company’s third-quarter earnings on Monday. Novus reported a net loss of $5.51 per share, missing analyst expectations of $1.75 per share.
