Hampton Products Buys Commando Lock

Foothill Ranch security company Hampton Products acquired padlock maker Commando Lock Company.

Hampton Products, which makes security systems hardware for residential and commercial customers under brands such as Brinks and BenjiLock, said the deal boosts Hampton’s ability to manufacture domestically amid the global supply chain challenges. Michigan-based Commando manufactures in the U.S.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. A spokesperson for Hampton said plans call for Commando to remain based in Michigan. The company declined to say how many employees Commando adds to Hampton’s worker base of over 250.

Hampton President and CEO Greg Gluchowski said in a statement announcing the deal, “We will continue to look for brands with disruptive innovation in our categories and those that are adjacent.”
