Irvine-based Broadcom Corp. and the University of California-Irvine will produce a one-day technology and entrepreneurship competition on Saturday, Feb. 28 at UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business, Broadcom said.
Graduate student teams from UCI’s schools of law, business, engineering, and information and computer sciences will be asked to “structure and negotiate a business deal involving … technology,” the company said.
The event is meant to provide “hands-on experience at solving real business challenges,” said Arthur Chong, general counsel of Broadcom.
It “will go a long way in preparing students as future innovators and entrepreneurs,” said Gregory Washington, dean of UCI’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering.
Local business professionals will judge the competition based on teams’ business strategy, professionalism and the terms of the final agreement.
