WHY: Founder and chairman of annual Let’s Be Frank About Cancer fundraising gala that supports cancer research by oncologist Dr. Sumanta Pal, co-director of the kidney cancer program at City of Hope.
IN THE NEWS: The 10th annual gala on March 23 raised $2.1M for cancer research at City of Hope Orange County’s Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. City of Hope officials also announced that the welcome desk in the Lennar Center will be named after Di Bella for his decade-long support of City of Hope.
NOTABLE: Di Bella is a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2011. Received what Di Bella credits as life-saving treatment from Pal at City of Hope in Duarte.
