IN THE NEWS: Masimo shareholders in May voted to approve the company’s proposed $9.9B sale, first announced in February, to Danaher Corp. Masimo will become a standalone business unit and brand within Danaher’s diagnostic segment upon the deal closing, which is expected some time this year.
NOTABLE: Named CEO of Masimo just five months after accepting the role of worldwide president at BD Advanced Patient Monitoring, the former Critical Care unit of Edwards Lifesciences that was acquired by Becton, Dickinson and Co. for $4.2B. Led the unit for nearly a decade as corporate vice president and general manager prior to the acquisition. Unit grew almost 50% to $800M within the first six years of her leadership. Previously spent more than 20 years at Medtronic and served on boards of Outset Medical and Irvine-based Inari Medical before it was acquired by Stryker Corp. for $4.9B.
