Data from Entrepreneur magazine in Irvine and franchise disclosure documents show HFC’s three concepts combined have about 1,300 franchises: 84% are Budget Blinds, 14% Tailored Living, 2% Concrete Craft.
About 90% of the total are in the U.S., the rest being in Canada and Mexico.
Disclosure documents and company websites show average annual sales of about $244,000 to $560,000 for one location of one of the three businesses and average gross profit margins ranging from 48% to 73% in the U.S. and Canada.
Systemwide sales for the three concepts combined, based on average sales and number of units, are an estimated $607 million.
Franchise and territory fees for a franchise are $58,000 to $95,000, and it can cost $225,000 to open the doors.
Territories are sold by number of households: 32,000 for Budget Blinds, 75,000 for Tailored Living; 100,000 for Concrete Craft. HFC franchisees cover about 10,000 cities.
Monthly royalties and advertising vary by concept but start at about $800 for new franchisees, up to $2,000 to $3,000 a month for established operators.
Disclosure documents put Budget Blinds LLC’s 2016 revenue at $41.3 million, which suggests HFC’s revenue from the three concepts combined is about $50 million.
