Irvine-based Specific Media LLC has added former Turner Broadcasting executive Larry Goodman to its board of directors.
“Larry brings unparalleled experience and an immense depth of knowledge that will help drive our company forward in this rapidly changing media environment,” Tim Vanderhook, Specific Media’s chief executive, said in a news release.
The online advertising technology and media company has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta and Minneapolis, as well as United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Germany. Its 2013 global revenue is estimated at $180 million.
Goodman was the president of news and operations for Turner Broadcasting Sales Inc. from 1995 to 2003. He served as president of Turner Broadcasting unit CNN Sales and Marketing at the same time, “responsible for sales across CNN’s television, internet and barter syndication units.” He also oversaw “research, planning, pricing, commercial operations, budgeting and software development for all Turner networks and websites,” according to Specific Media.
Goodman, 60, retired from Turner Broadcasting in 2003 and started White Mountain Media, a consulting company which specialized in digital and traditional media. He also serves as a director for several companies, including National CineMedia Inc. and Sagacity Media Inc.
