Santa Ana-based Superior Transportation Associates Inc., which operates as Stajets, announced a joint venture with a Van Nuys aviation company that will give it use of a fleet of long-range jets.
The deal with Elite Aviation LLC also will expand the Orange County company’s customer base and global footprint. Stajets will get access to Elite’s Gulfstream, Challenger, Falcon and Hawker aircraft.
The larger aircraft will allow Stajets “to offer increased passenger loads and longer flights,” said company President Kurt Belcher.
The company offers executive charter flights, as well as aircraft sales and management services.
Stajets is based at John Wayne Airport with 12 employees. Belcher moved the company from Riverside County three years ago after buying it for an undisclosed sum.
Elite—which is based at Van Nuys Airport—will gain access to Irvine, Newport Beach and northern San Diego County through the deal with Stajets. It also gains use of Stajets’ fleet of mid to light jets and turboprops.
