Fast-Growing Window Tinter Buys in San Diego

Laguna Hills-based window tinting company Solar Art Window Film has acquired window film dealer Stop the Sun in Escondido.

Solar Art, which has 15 employees, provides tinting, decorative and security services for commercial and residential projects.

It has been growing rapidly in recent years, driven in part by acquisitions. It was new to the Business Journal’s latest Fastest-Growing Private Companies List, published in September.

Solar Art had an estimated $2.3 million in revenue for the year through June, up from $1 million two years prior.

Solar Art started in Canoga Park in 1985 and moved to Orange County in 2009. It has made several acquisitions in Southern California in recent years, including its 2011 buy of Sun-Tech Window Film, a dealer that specializes in commercial applications.
