Santa Ana-based Allied Universal, the nation’s largest private security firm, said it’s acquired Safety Environment Business Solutions Inc., of Ossining, New York. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1989 by Robert DiNozzi, S.E.B. offers security services in 22 states and employs more than 1,300 security officers with revenues exceeding $65 million.
“We are truly pleased with this acquisition as S.E.B’s well-established platform, highly skilled security professionals and a proven track record of providing superior security solutions will ideally complement and enhance our business moving forward,” Allied Universal Chairman and CEO Steve Jones said in a statement.
The acquisition comes at a time when it became known that Allied Universal has expressed “an interest” in acquiring U.K.’s G4S plc, a security services company with 533,000 employees, according to a statement from the London-based company. See this week’s Business Journal for details.
Allied Universal employs about 240,000 and has about $8.5 billion in annual sales.
