VF Corp. (NYSE: VFC), the parent to Costa Mesa-based Vans Inc, said in a statement it will continue paying North American store employees through May 30.
The Denver-based firm also said pay for distribution center workers in the U.S. and Canada would be increased through July.
It is “preparing for a careful and coordinated strategy for re-oepning some of our North American offices and owned retail stores in areas where we have confidence that we can do so safety and in accordance with local requirements.”
The company added it is “cautiously optimistic” about its reopening plans.
VF also owns brands such as The North Face, Dickies and Timberland.
Its shares were trading up about 2% at midday Tuesday for a market cap of $23 billion.
