Mazda North American Operations reported a 54% drop in June sales compared to June 2021.
The Irvine-based automaker sold a total of 15,130 vehicles last month.
Sales were led by the CX-5, its crossover SUV, which saw a 59% decrease from year prior with a total of 6,654 units.
Another crossover SUV, the CX-30, saw an 18% decline in sales from the year prior, with a total of 4,733 units.
The company’s 63.7% year-over-year May sales decline was due to an inventory shortage.
“The recent Shanghai COVID lockdown has tightened parts supplies and impacted production,” company officials told the Business Journal last month.
