Look for harmony in Wet Seal Inc.’s upcoming marketing campaign—Fifth Harmony, that is.
The Foothill Ranch-based apparel brand has partnered with the “pop superstars” to promote a “collection of exclusive fashions inspired by each of the (band) member’s individual style.”
“We are excited to be working with Fifth Harmony as they continue their rise to super stardom,” Wet Seal Chief Executive John Goodman said in a news release. “Their individuality and sense of style makes them relatable to the Wet Seal girl and they are truly representative of the various backgrounds of our customer.”
The music group’s members, aside from having their own Wet Seal collections, will also be featured on the brand’s social media channels and in digital and brand marketing campaigns.
Their debut album, “Reflection,” will be sold at Wet Seal stores, according to the company.
Sonata Blastoff
Close your eyes for a moment during the new TV spot for the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, and you might confuse it with a rocket launch.
“Safety system? Ready; Radar system? On; Stability system? Initialized; Propulsion system? Engaged; Enjoy the ride,” the NASA Mission Control Center-like exchange plays out as a Sonata speeds into the sunset.
The 30-second commercial is produced by Fountain Valley-based Hyundai Motor America Inc.’s advertising agency, InnoceanUSA in Huntington Beach. It’s promoting the “Sonata Premiere Event” being held at the Hyundai dealers nationwide.
The automaker spent $287.5 million on advertising in 2013, according to New York-based Kantar Media.

It’s made with Unifi Inc.’s “Repreve” fibers, which are derived from recycled materials, such as plastic bottles. Unifi, whose market value is about $505 million, is based in Greensboro, N.C.

Aguilera, in her role as volunteer spokesperson, will appear in a public service announcement and other advertising and online efforts. She is also urging everyone to use the #PassTheRedCup hashtag on social media to help spread the word about the cause and to donate $5 at HungertoHope.com.
Yum! Brands said its World Hunger Relief effort has raised more than $185 million since 2007.
