Vans Bows DTLA Store, Community Space

Costa Mesa-based Vans Inc. opened the doors to its newest store in downtown Los Angeles’ rapidly growing Broadway corridor.

The 11,500-square-foot store has been a long-time coming and represents a flagship door for the footwear company. Vans, which capped its fiscal 2019 year ended March 30 with $3.7 billion in sales, is calling it a “community-driven retail and event space.”

The store is stocked with L.A. exclusives, a separate skate shop buildout, gallery, lounge and workshop space across two floors. Talks and other events inside the store are expected to begin March 12.

Vans is part of Denver-based VF Corp. (NYSE: VFC), which operates a portfolio of brands that also includes The North Face and Dickies. VF had a recent market cap of $32.5 billion.
