Nate Smith, the newest chief executive of Tilly’s Inc., has plans to reignite growth at the youth apparel retailer through newfound revenue on TikTok, following customer affinity for Tillys-owned brands and the investment into AI-driven tools.
TikTok creator and Tillys brand ambassador Loren Gray partnered with the company to host an in-person customer experience in December. Later on an earnings call, Smith told analysts that the retailer will continue to invest in “exclusive opportunities.”

Tillys stands for confidence and expressing yourself, and I actually grew up shopping at Tillys, so this is a full circle moment for me. Bringing Pennsylvania to Los Angeles and sort of melding those two worlds is really exciting,” Gray said in a statement. (Photo by Joe Scarnici/Getty Images for Tillys)
