County Can Lift More Business Restrictions

Orange County received the green light from the California Department of Public Health to lift additional restrictions on some businesses, reopening restaurants and malls.

The approval came Saturday as the Memorial Day weekend began and moves OC further into stage two of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s phased reopening of the state.

The expanded guidance applies to in-person dining reservations, retailers and malls with proper physical distancing, outdoor museums and offices for companies where working from home is not possible.

Individual counties earlier this month began filing attestations with the state’s health department to verify they met certain guidelines for safely reopening so that they could move into the expanded version of stage 2.
