Former North Face President to Boardriders CEO

Quiksilver and Billabong parent Boardriders Inc. said Wednesday it named Arne Arens CEO.
Arens will succeed Dave Tanner in the position beginning March 1. Tanner is expected to continue serving on the board of directors.
Huntington Beach-based Boardriders owns a portfolio of action sports brands, including Quiksilver, Billabong, RVCA, Element, Roxy, DC Shoes and VonZipper.
Arens will join Boardriders after having served as global brand president of VF Corp.’s (NYSE: VFC) The North Face brand. VF, with a market cap of $30.8 billion, is also the parent to Costa Mesa-based Vans Inc.
Tanner has been leading the action sports apparel company since 2015, when it was previously known as Quiksilver Inc. Quiksilver emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2016, renamed itself Boardriders in 2017 and in 2018 acquired Billabong International Ltd.
